Overview of fire classes according to NEN-EN2

Fire class A, this is a fire involving solids such as: wood, paper, textile, non-melting plastics
Fire class B, this is a fire involving liquids such as: petrol, diesel, alcohols, ketones, solvents, adhesives, paints, lubricating greases, lubricating oils, substances that melt when heated (candle wax, plastics)
Fire class C, this is a fire involving gases such as: propane, butane, natural gas, LPG, acetylene, methane, hydrogen
Fire class D, this is a fire involving metals such as: iron filings, aluminium, powder, magnesium, sodium, potassium
Fire class F, this is a fire involving (frying) oils and fats such as: cooking oil or frying fat
